Hey Angelique

I know how it feels to dream about owning your own home. I too have "horrible credit", it was so bad that I just didn't think owning my own home could happen. That was until my best friend showed me the website below. All I had to do was fill out a simple form. I never imagened that I would be moving into my new home in the next 30 days.

If you want to take a look at what got me into my new home click below.

Linda,

ScienceGateway (http://www.sciencegateway.org/impact/if03a.htm) has a
2002 and a 2003 list. If you have a specific journal in mind, you can
search for "Journal Name" impact factor on Google and probably find it.
Many journals list their impact factors on their websites, and others
show up on lists elsewhere. ISI puts out a newsletter called Sci-Bytes
(http://www.in-cites.com/research/2005/index.html) that publishes lots
of top ten lists and individual journal profiles. You might be able to
find some information there.

I hope this helps,
Debby Andreadis

Has anyone had experience with EBook Library

I'm considering a small pilot of some titles. I'm interested in any experiences
or comments on functionality, loading of the records they supply into the OPAC,
unanticipated costs, etc.

You can respond off-list if you like (email address below). Thanks in advance

Subject: Invitation to help build the National Science Digital Library

Colleagues- The National Science Digital Library(NSDL) Program was
launched by the National Science Foundation in 2000 to establish an
online library of resources for science, technology , engineering ,
and mathematics (STEM) education and research. Access to aggregated
collections and services began in December 2002 with the opening of
the NSDL.org web site (http://nsdl.org)

As part of a phased approach to extend the width and depth of the
STEM resources in the NSDL we are now looking for volunteers in the
subject areas listed below to recommend resources for inclusion in
the NSDL collection. We have developed an automated system called the
NSDL Resource Recommendation System (RRS) that is a simple process by
which an authorized selector to identifies a resource with a URL,
initiates an automated metadata generation process, has the
opportunity to edit and augment the metadata if necessary, and then
submits it for inclusion in the NSDL.

If you are a librarian interested in contributing to this effort to
recommend resources for inclusion in the NSDL. Please contact me. I
will respond with some additional background, explain the criteria,
and get you going with the system.

Thank you so much for your consideration and support.

you like):

I am one of those who didn't think librarianship as a career
possibility. My field was science and I have advance degrees in science.
I became interested in information science and recently obtained my MLIS
degree and got a job as a Science & Technology librarian. I enjoy my
work as a SciTech librarian.
I am trying very hard to encourage my friends who are in science fields
to do MLIS. But I couldn't persuade anyone yet. The main reason is the
salary.
University Libraries have to offer better salaries to attract students
with science degrees to get interested in librarianship.

Fred, I'm definitely interested in this. I've recently been
ending my first year engineering [and other] orientations with a
brief explanation of the demographic situation facing the library
profession, some of the career possibilities they might not have
even considered in relation to librarianship, a comparison of
beginning salary levels for newly-graduated engineers versus new
librarians, etc.

I'm also preparing to "push" in another direction. I recently was
able to hire a person with an MSc degree as a reference assistant.
That individual is working out extremely well. Lately, I've
had other persons with subject masters degrees apply for Library
Assistant positions. We also have senior assistants who have
raised families, and could be free to go on for a masters in
library science.

Like everyone else, we have a number of upcoming librarian
retirements over the next 4-8 years [ including mine in about 4 ].
I'd like to see our University Library establish a programme to
help subsidize some of our best reference assistants in going on
to obtain MLIS degrees, and then coming back to work with us at
that higher level. This would give us access to persons who were
"known quantities", were familiar with our university and its
programmes, and had already established their capabilities with
us. This is just my own idea at the moment, completely
hypothetical, and may "crash and burn", but on the other
hand......

I am also interested in ideas and resources for recruiting science
students into academic libraries. Being a librarian with a graduate degree
in biology, I have found that background to be immensely valuable.

Has anyone considered giving talks about opportunities in librarianship at
science conferences? I believe many graduate students attend these to give
poster presentations. There are many science graduates who decide that
long hours in the laboratory and the struggle for grants/funding is not
for them. The potential is out there; we just need to tap it.

There is an easy answer

Hey Jack

I know how it feels to have my phone ring constantly from debt collectors. Maybe you lost your job or just hit a bump in the road, shit happens. One day my friend showed me this website where I got information on how to lower my monthly mortgage payment while paying off some of my bills.

3 weeks later I am back on track and I started saving money for the first time in two years!

RE: You sure can own your own home with bad credit.

Hey Evelyn

I know how it feels to dream about owning your own home. I too have "horrible credit", it was so bad that I just didn't think owning my own home could happen. That was until my best friend showed me the website below. All I had to do was fill out a simple form. I never imagened that I would be moving into my new home in the next 30 days.

If you want to take a look at what got me into my new home click below.

HI..
My name is Janet Oh
and I am a junior at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood TN
I am doing a research paper on the aftermath of tsunami-
more specifically how the tsunami has affected the health and
welfare system of
the South and Southeastern Asian countries (such as Sri Lanka and
Indonesia),
analysis of the growth of health and insurance coverage for the
populations
in these countries (especially the impoverished region), and the
prospective
growth and advancement of health and welfare services due to the
attention tsunami has brought to these countries- and the lack of
health coverage
for many inhabitants.
Well, as I was doing looking for research materials I came across
two of your articles written on February 7 titled Sri Lanka
needs
and After the Tsunami. and found them to be extremely helpful.
As part of our research paper we need to interview someone who
specializes in the field of our topic. However, there are not much
tsunami specialists.
Since my paper is focusing more on the health system of these
countries (past, present, future etc..) I believe that someone who
has genuine and professional interest in the health issues of
south/southeast Asia would be an ideal person for an interview.

The interview has to last at least 30 minutes, and it can take place
over email (like me sending you questions and you sending me back
the answers.)

I would really appreciate your help.
Please email me as soon as possible if you would like to be
interviewed.
My email address is hot_icer@yahoo.co.kr
The interviews are due at the end of this week (25th of Feb.)
If you have further question please feel free to email me.
Thank you for your time.

Janet Oh

Banda Aceh Medical Students Face New Crisis

Aceh, Indonesia, have told IMC’s Medical Director Dr. Neil Joyce that
they have lost their families and/or homes and will have to forego

Subject: About non-medical students

HI all,
I wanted to add my voice to ahmed and claire’s ones about changing the bylaw and
making non-medical student members of ifmsa nmo’s.Here in Algeria, we’ve already
done it, 70% of our members are medical students but the others are non-medic
students.
They are very intereseted by health problems and are very activ in our different
committees.
They add a lot to our NMO with their power and innovative ideas. They take part
to all our activities and are very motivated and motivating. We changed our
bylaws some years ago to accept them , and since that day, our actions became
bigger. They allow us to tuch more students. The best exemple is the scora
exemple.
On saturday and sunday (the 12nd and 13th of february) the scora did a great
action at Babezzouar (the biggest university of Africa). They did 2 days of
stands with distribution of leaflets, condoms and red ribbon and a conference
where more than 500 students learnt about AIDS and get answers to their
questions. It was a huge event which tuched a lot of students, and this action
would never have been possible without the help of non-medic students.
This exemple reflect what can the non-medic students add to an NMO but there is
so much more they can do.
So, here in Le SOUK we support the idea of makinf them official in ifmsa and all
the NMO.
We hope that our testimony we help for that.

Yours
Yasmine
