| About Asian Student Medical Journal.
Asian Student Medical Journal is owned and published by
Virtualmed. The journal is managed entirely by Medical students, from
Editing to Web-designing and hosting. The Journal contains
articles that have been specially commissioned with medical
students in mind. The Chief Editor is backed by a team of
editors from different Medical Schools in Asia.
The Journal is published entirely on the Internet and is
available free for Medical Students from our website or the
mirror sites. The Journal is published in a continuously, rather
than as discrete editions, so that readers can access the
article at the earliest possible date.
The articles once published make their entry into the
archives automatically., and thus any article can be accessed by
searching the archives.
The Journal is basically divided into the following sections:
News Updates:
which covers News from the Medical World.
Pulse
It is space for Medical Students to share your experiences and
air your views. Articles can be on anything under the sun but
must be no more than 1000 words. Poems with a Medical touch are
also welcome.
Controversy
This section is a chance for people to set out their argument
for or against a topical or controversial subject. They are no
more than 800 words.
Personal
view
These should be about 850 words on a personal experience.
Literature review:
contains links to articles of importance published in
various Journals
Punchline: The Jokes and
cartoon section.
Reviews/Articles
If you want to review a website, book, or exhibition etc. please
send the editor a review of a book or an exhibition that
you have seen recently. It should be between 350 - 400 words. .
If you would like to be a regular reviewer for the Asian Student
Medical Journal, send us a 400 word review with a covering
letter about why you would be a good person to review
books/exhibitions for the Asian Student Medical Journal.
Articles/Papers written by Medical Students or
by others and is of importance to a Medical student are also
welcome.
Netspeak: Describes good and interesting web
resources for medical Students.
Letters
You can write a letter on anything you want to tell people, or
anything in the Asian Student Medical Journal that you want to
agree or disagree with. They should be around 400 words in
length. If referenced, there should be no more than 3
references. These must be sent via email. You must include full
address, medical school and year of study If you wish to receive
your £10 book token. We do not pay for letters. However we do
have special give aways for letter writers and a prize for the
star letter.
Conferences: You
could advertise a Medical Student Conference in ASMJ for free.
You could even publish the conference reports/abstracts
